Видел отчеты западных коллег по ловле щук на нахлыст.

Hello,

Noticed an increase of traffic from the Russian federation on my website so I checked out
where it came from and landed here - do not speak a word of Russian but Google translate helps...

Rügen - I actually did not land a single fish there but my friends where more succsesfull.
Best time in Fall around Oktober and November as baitfish gather in the inside Marshes and Lakes
also known as the Bodden.
A certain Adolf H digged canals in the shallow lakes on Rügen in order to base battleships there
but off course he never got the chance to finish it.
Those canals are deeper than the surrounding lake and hold the baitfish and pike in winter.
Other locations are harbours where channels have been dregded for shipping.

To fish Rügen you need a permit which you can get online - website only available in German
but with google translate you might understand it.

Thank you very much for useful information and links. It is very pleasant to be in contact with foreign anglers. Welcome to our community!
The main idea of this topic was to identify possibility to fish in Europe in winter as we have absolutely closed season due to ice on lakes and rivers. I know that baits casting is possible in February in Bodden from the boat. So it is quite possible to do fly fishing in the same area. I understand that it is not the best season but it is better to check information.
I think it can be done with mentioned guide.

I can imagine that you have a closed season in winter

As we are located west at the end of the Gulf stream winters are
usually mild.
I personally rarely fish for pike as I find perch a prettier fish but
wintertime down here is generally the time to fish for them.

Some of the local flyfisherman have expiremented a lot with
bellyboat fishing on the larger lakes:

I need to read about all peculiarities of this fishing before planning the trip.

No problem, in Rügen the guide arranged accomodations.
Best to contact the guide.
Fishing with this guide was all done by foot so no boats involved.
